Discount approval

Discount approval is the process of requiring authorization from a manager or finance team before a discount can be applied to a deal.

Discount approval enforces pricing governance by routing discount requests above a defined threshold to the appropriate approver before they are offered to customers. It prevents margin erosion from unsanctioned discounting.

Example: A sales rep can apply up to 10% discount autonomously. Any discount between 10% and 25% requires manager approval, and anything above 25% requires VP of Sales sign-off before the quote is sent.
