Default

Default is the inbound orchestration platform designed for revenue teams. It unifies inbound lead capture, AI-powered enrichment, smart routing, scheduling, and CRM synchronization into a single, no-code platform, eliminating the need for a patchwork of tools.

Challenge

Previous tools lacked flexible billing periods, real-time revenue metrics, and solid CRM integration. Deals slowed down and trust in the setup weakened.

Solution

Hyperline brought flexible billing, seamless CRM integration, and real-time ARR. A fully managed migration took a few weeks and no internal resources.

Pricing model

Default charges a platform fee plus licenses for users tied to revenue activity. Editor seats stay free, and larger teams get custom enterprise plans.

Results

Default now runs quotes, subscriptions, and renewals on Hyperline with confidence. The team trusts the setup to scale from $1M to $100M in ARR.

A hybrid pricing model on early-stage tools

Default is the inbound orchestration platform for revenue teams. It unifies inbound lead capture, AI-powered enrichment, smart routing, scheduling, and CRM synchronization into a single, no-code platform. Its pricing combines a platform fee with license fees: companies only pay for users directly tied to revenue activity, like receiving meetings, owning CRM accounts, or being part of workflows, while editor seats remain free. Larger teams can switch to custom enterprise plans.

In its early days, Default relied on Salesbricks to invoice its first customers. As George, Founding GTM at Default, recalls, overall it worked, and billing was not a priority.

“We just wanted something a bit more professional than sending a Google Doc, and that was it.”

When workarounds pile up

As the company grew, billing requirements became more complex: renewals, hybrid pricing combining platform fees and seat-based pricing, and more advanced processes. Default then tried Sequence, a newer player in the market. The product had an elegant design but didn’t fully match the team’s workflows or growing needs, which meant extra workarounds.

The gaps kept surfacing: no free trial period at the start of a subscription, billing periods restricted to predefined intervals, no real-time visibility on metrics like ARR, and a limited CRM integration experience. Proposals sent for signature didn’t always flow back into the system, and confidence in the setup weakened. Meanwhile, Default doubled ARR in six months, which made trust and transparency in the finance function a strategic priority. The team started looking for a scalable solution that could serve as a reliable source of truth.

Testing Hyperline in self-serve

That is when Stan, Head of Growth at Default, came across Hyperline and began exploring the platform on his own.

“Out of curiosity, I tested the product and immediately saw how simple and intuitive it felt. What really stood out was having access to key revenue metrics, like ARR, in real time, which is critical for me as a Growth leader.”

Several follow-up meetings confirmed that Hyperline could handle Default’s use cases and close the gaps left by previous tools: flexible billing periods, smooth CRM integration, real-time revenue metrics, easy management of renewals and prorations, and responsive support, all on a robust, reliable platform.

To stay focused on business and product growth, Default chose a fully managed migration with Hyperline’s onboarding team. A few weeks later, without mobilizing internal resources, the team was billing customers through Hyperline.

A platform to grow from $1M to $100M

Switching gave Default a robust platform that can scale with the company and even accelerate its growth.

“We finally found a solution we can trust, one that will support us from $1M to $100M in ARR.”

George highlights having all the features he needs to send quotes, manage subscriptions, handle renewals, and everything in between.

“What’s game-changing with Hyperline isn’t one specific feature, it’s the overall experience. The platform is designed to cover every use case, even edge cases. I never worry, because I know it’s flexible enough to meet all our needs.”

Today, the team works seamlessly in Hyperline, directly in the platform or through Salesforce, with a clean, intuitive interface. Collaboration with Hyperline’s customer success team has been a strong point, during implementation and day-to-day.

“The Hyperline team is incredible, it feels like we’re on the same team. They’re always helping us find better ways to do things.”

With billing running on a setup it trusts, the team can put its energy back into growth.
