What is accrued revenue ?
Accrued revenue is revenue that has been earned but not yet invoiced or collected.
Accrued revenue is revenue that a company has earned by delivering a product or service but has not yet billed or received payment for. It is recorded as an asset on the balance sheet under accrual accounting.
Example: A SaaS company delivers a month of service in December but invoices the customer in January. The December revenue is accrued and recognized in the correct period.
