What is success-based pricing ?
Success-based pricing ties the price a customer pays to the outcomes or results they achieve using the product, aligning vendor revenue with customer value.
Success-based pricing (also called outcome-based pricing) moves beyond usage or seat counts to charge customers based on the measurable results the product delivers, such as revenue generated, costs saved, or deals closed. It creates strong alignment between vendor and customer goals.
Example: A SaaS revenue intelligence tool charges 1% of the incremental revenue its customers attribute to using the platform. If a customer closes $500,000 in additional deals through the tool's recommendations, they pay $5,000, making the ROI immediately transparent.
